High-quality polyester yarn is obtained from recycled PET bottles that would otherwise have ended up in incinerators or landfills.
In a complex process developed by Continental together with partners, rubber from end-of-life tyres is recycled and processed in such a way that it can be reused as a component of new rubber compounds.

At Continental, which is aiming to achieve 100% carbon neutrality by 2050, raw materials will find their way into tyre construction in the future. These include waste products from agriculture – such as the ash from rice husks – rubber from dandelions, recycled rubber or PET bottles.
