Not-so-August month for Maruti, Hyundai and Tata with sales decline, M&M, Toyota and Kia shine

A combination of tepid consumer demand as well as OEM rationalising of inventory levels see dispatches from Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai drop 8% while Tata Motors was down 3% YoY in August. Mahindra & Mahindra and Toyota Kirloskar Motor though are having a dream run and Kia India sales have received a new charge from the updated Sonet SUV launched in January.
