Kia India sells 255,207 vehicles in FY2025, Sonet top seller with over 99,000 units

With the launch of the Syros compact SUV in early 2025, Kia India sees a surge in sales in the fourth quarter and wraps up FY2025 with 4% YoY growth. The Sonet compact SUV, which has outsold the Seltos midsize SUV for 15 straight months, is the new best-seller for the company, with the Carens MPV taking third position on the product sales chart.

Kia India sells 255,207 vehicles in FY2025, Sonet top seller with over 99,000 units

Kia India has ended FY2025 with total wholesales of 255,207 vehicles, which translates into an additional 9,573 units sold year on year (FY2024: 245,634 units).  The FY2025-ending month of March 2025 was its best with 25,525 units, up 19% YoY (March 2024: 21,400 units).

The company registered two quarters of sales decline (Q1 and Q3) and two quarters of growth (Q2 and Q4). Q1 FY2025 (April-June 2024) sales at 60,768 units were down on Q1 FY2024 (61,373 units). Q2 FY2025 (July-September 2024) dispatches of 66,553 vehicles were up 12% on year-ago sales of 59,243 units. Q3 FY2025 (October-December 2024) with 52,310 units was down 12% YoY (Q3 FY2024: 59,649 units). Q4 FY2025 (January-March 2025) with 75,576 units registered 16% YoY growth (Q4 FY2024: 65,369 units).

SONET IS KIA INDIA'S BEST-SELLING PRODUCT IN FY2025
The Sonet compact SUV, which has outsold the Seltos midsize SUV since January 2024, is Kia India’s best-selling product in FY2025 with an estimated total of 99,757 units, falling short of the 100,000 milestone by just 243 units. The Sonet, which with a 39% share accounts for the bulk of Kia India’s sales, has clocked cumulative 400,000 sales, news which Autocar Professional broke in early February 2025.

The Seltos, which has been Kia’s best-seller in India since its market entry in August 2019 till FY2024, has witnessed a tough FY2025. Total estimated sales of 72,729 units are down sharply by 27% YoY (FY2024: 100,423 units, +0.30%).

The luxurious Carens MPV, with estimated FY2025 wholesales of 64,712 units, has posted marginal growth of 2.44% YoY (FY2024: 63,167 units, -10%). In early February 2025, the versatile and spacious MPV drove past the cumulative sales milestone of 200,000 units in the domestic market 36 months after launch.

The recently launched Syros compact SUV, which has clocked 15,986-unit sales, is the fourth highest contributor to Kia India’s FY2025 sales and accounts for a 21% share of the Q4 FY2025 total of 75,576 units.
