As of end-October 2022, with five products – the Seltos midsize SUV, Sonet compact SUV, Carnival and Carens MPVs and the EV6 electric crossover – it has a 13.5% utility vehicle share.
The Seltos, Kia’s first made-in-India product, remains its best-seller with 335,920 units since launch, accounting for 55% of total sales of 606,687 units.
The Sonet compact SUV, Kia's second product for India, accounts for 33% of total sales: 198,131 units.
The Carnival MPV, launched in February 2020, has sold 12,779 units till end-November 2022.
The Carens MPV, launched in February 2022, has sold 59,561 units till end-November 2922 and given a new charge to Kia’s sales.
Kia’s flagship EV, the EV6 was launched in June 2022. Imported via the CBU route, it has contributed 296 units to total sales till now.
Kia India currently has a sales network of 339 touchpoints across the country.
India is now a jewel in Kia’s crown. In the year to date – January to November 2022 – Kia India with 239,372 units accounts for 9% of the global sales of 2,663,734 units.
