High inventory levels stifle sales in September, carmakers target festive season for growth

While Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai Motor India and Tata Motors reduced their dispatches to dealers to optimise inventory levels, Mahindra, Toyota and Kia pumped up the volume ahead of the festive season which runs for all of October and early November. This would be the best time to buy a new vehicle, what with mega discounts available on mass-market cars and SUVs to luxury models.
