Electric car, SUV and MPV sales jump 114% to over 81,000 units in CY2023

Sales of electric passenger vehicles scaled a new high of 81,870 units in CY2023 as a result of increased product availability, buoyant consumer demand and expanding charging infrastructure. Tata Motors maintains its leadership with a 73% market share, followed by MG Motor India and Mahindra & Mahindra. Luxury carmakers sold 2,582 units, growing 355% year on year.
