Electric car and SUV sales in September lowest in 19 months: 5,733 units

After having averaged monthly sales of 8,039 units in the first seven months of 2024, consumer demand for electric passenger vehicle has slowed down. September retails of 5,773 units are the lowest after February 2023’s 4,761 units. Cumulative January-September sales though are up 15% at 68,642 units; luxury EV makers have posted a 20% YoY increase in their nine-month sales of 1,928 units. OEMs eye upcoming festive season to recover momentum.
