Electric 2W sales rocket 85% in October to 139,000 units, TVS regains lead over Bajaj, Ola bounces back

Festive season demand and attractive OEM discounts power e-two-wheeler retail sales to their second-best monthly performance, narrowly missing March’s 140,333 units. While Ola has rebounded to 41,000-plus levels, the intense battle between TVS and Bajaj continues. With the top six OEMs each surpassing their CY2023 retails in the first 10 months of 2024, this segment will hit a million sales for the first time in a calendar year in November.

Festive October turned out to be an electrifying month for manufacturers of electric two-wheelers. At 139,031 units, retail sales in October 2024, which ushered in the 32-day festive season across India, registered handsome 85% year-on-year growth (October 2023: 75,164 units).
