With the ongoing transformation in the global automotive ecosystem, Bengaluru-headquartered Daimler Truck Innovation Center India (DTICI), which is the German commercial vehicle maker's key engineering and R&D hub outside of Europe, is working towards developing next-generation software-defined vehicle (SDV) architectures for commercial vehicles.

These new platforms that will decouple the vehicle software from its hardware, will focus on augmenting efficiencies for fleets, by remotely implementing advanced features and empowering operators to drive business growth. DTICI is also tapping into the power of data and AI to identify problems that could be solved with high-quality data and analytics.

According to Raghavendra Vaidya, MD & CEO, DTICI, "We have set up a data and AI team, and we are undertaking several projects, such as arriving at the right spare part prices by leveraging data analytics. We are deploying a three-tier model to maximise data usage for business efficiency. We are focused on maximising the business value for Daimler globally."
