In Conversation with Piaggio Vehicle India’s Diego Graffi
The Chairman and MD of Piaggio (India) is optimistic about growth in the e-3W segment, while also saying government incentives will be crucial to maintain the category’s growth trajectory in the future.
Piaggio, which was one of the early entrants into the electric 3W segment in India with the Ape e-City in 2019, is eyeing strong growth in the category, driven by low acquisition and operational cost as well as driver demand.
The company is witnessing up to 25% of its total production for e-3Ws. In this video, Diego Graffi, Chairman and Manging Director, Piaggio Vehicles (India,) talks about the market opportunity to bring a variety of e-3Ws as well as the company's push for battery swapping technology.
Graffi also emphasises on the importance of government incentives for the e-3W segment and says that incentives will give stability to the demand for the next 2-3 years. “Then, it will not be a dream to see the penetration of e-3Ws go much beyond that what we see right now.”
