Tata Technologies inaugurates Innovation Centre in Coimbatore for Vehicle Software Solutions

Tata Technologies, a global product engineering and digital services company, has inaugurated its first innovation centre in Coimbatore. This centre is specifically focused on innovating solutions for global customers through the development, testing, and integration of vehicle software solutions.

The vision behind Tata Technologies' initiative is to enable global automotive OEMs and Tier-1s in the development of software-defined vehicles and e-mobility solutions. The Coimbatore centre will serve as a hub for local talent to engage in global projects, upskill in new vehicle software areas, and innovate solutions across the automotive value chain.

Commenting on the inauguration, Warren Harris, MD and CEO, Tata Technologies, said, "We are pleased to establish our presence in Coimbatore and contribute to the region's thriving engineering landscape. This strategic initiative will ensure a continuous exchange of talent, ideas, and solutions, propelling the industry forward into a future defined by innovation and efficiency. Coimbatore is recognised as a key engineering hub in India, boasting a vibrant engineering community and education ecosystem. The new innovation centre will focus on various vehicle software projects, including embedded software development and testing, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), connected vehicles, functional safety, cybersecurity, hardware-in-the-loop validation, and AUTOSAR. In the initial phase of operations, Tata Technologies plans to employ 100 vehicle software professionals from the local community.
