Mahindra Truck & Bus helps customers save Rs 900 crore since implementation of BS VI emissions norms

Mahindra Truck & Bus helps customers save Rs 900 crore since implementation of BS VI emissions norms

Mahindra Truck & Bus, a division of the Automotive and Farm sector of Mahindra Group, has helped customers save more than Rs 900 crore so far through their mileage efficiency efforts, since the beginning of BS VI emissions norms, according to a top company executive. 

Mahindra Truck & Bus announced a mileage guarantee on its entire BS6 OBD II range of BLAZO X, FURIO, OPTIMO, and JAYO ranges of HCV, ICV, and LCV trucks on Monday.
 
Jalaj Gupta, Business Head, Commercial Vehicles, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said that the mileage guarantee during the BS6 OBD I was offered across their entire range of cargo products. 
 
He added that the mileage guarantee on OBD II norms was introduced after the company did extensive testings on its vehicles, which included 21 product categories. They were tested against 71 vehicles from competitor OEMs. A total of 458 trails were conducted, with over 1 million lakh kilometres, across various geographies. About 2750 GB of data was analysed. 
 
"The mileage guarantee will be on a like-to-like basis of competition," he added. 
 
The top executive added that the mileage guarantee was first initiated by the company in 2016  when BS III vehicles were in play. It was followed by a similar initiative later in BSIV in 2018.
