Etrio and Kosher Climate collaborate to create India's first carbon credit framework for electric commercial 3-wheelers

Electric vehicle (EV) maker Etrio has inked a strategic partnership with Kosher Climate to create a carbon credit framework for electric commercial three-wheelers.

This framework follows the Verified Carbon Standard Methodology and will help
companies become more sustainable. The monetisation of carbon credits creates an additional revenue inflow into the EV Industry, said  Kalyan C Korimerla, Managing Director and Co-Promoter, Etrio, adding that it was a sustainable growth model that augured well economically as well as environmentally.

Etrio is one of the first EV manufacturers in India to create a carbon credit
framework specifically for the 3-wheeler commercial EV segment, as per the press release.

Vamsi Krishna, Managing Director, Kosher Climate said that "every industry, country, and stakeholder faces unique challenges in managing carbon neutrality goals and requires a bespoke carbon assessment framework to achieve its zero-emission goal."

India has set itself an ambitious target of being a net zero economy by 2070.
A report as per the High-Level Policy Commission on Getting Asia to Net Zero states that achieving this goal could add up to 4.7 percent of Gross Domestic Product by 2036, besides also adding 15 million new jobs by 2047.
