ThunderPlus Launches Women-Focused EV Charging Franchise Program

ThunderPlus has introduced India's first women-focused EV fast charging franchise program, launching its inaugural station in Hyderabad on International Women's Day. The initiative creates a pathway for women entrepreneurs to enter the electric vehicle charging infrastructure business with a structured support system.

The franchise package requires a ₹6 lakh investment and includes a 30KW DC fast charger for four-wheelers with complete installation, shed construction, and operational support. ThunderPlus provides free maintenance for three years, a minimum business guarantee, and offers a 50% buyback option after the initial term. Franchisees need only supply the necessary space and power connection.

The company projects franchisees can generate revenues of approximately ₹12 lakhs over three years, creating a financially viable business opportunity in the expanding EV sector.

The first franchise was awarded to Tarini Pandey, an MBA graduate who chose entrepreneurship over traditional employment. The charging station was inaugurated by Amrithaa Ponnam, CEO of INDCON, who works with women's groups in Telangana.

"Women are key drivers of change, and their participation in the EV sector is essential for a truly sustainable future," said Rajeev YSR, CEO of ThunderPlus at the launch event. "Through this initiative, we aim to break industry barriers and provide women with a viable, high-growth business opportunity."

The program aligns with broader government initiatives to increase women's economic participation. According to recent industry reports, India's EV charging infrastructure market is expected to grow significantly as electric vehicle adoption increases nationwide, creating new business opportunities across the ecosystem.

The franchise model addresses two growing trends in India: the expansion of EV infrastructure and the push for greater inclusion of women in entrepreneurial ventures, particularly in technology and sustainability sectors.
