Tata Motors Launches Advanced Vehicle Recycling Facility in Northeast India

Tata Motors, India's leading commercial vehicle manufacturer, launched its seventh registered vehicle scrapping facility (RVSF) in Guwahati today, marking a significant expansion of sustainable automotive practices in Northeast India.

The facility, operating under the name 'Re.Wi.Re – Recycle with Respect,' represents a strategic partnership between Tata Motors and Axom Platinum Scrappers. With an annual capacity to process 15,000 end-of-life vehicles, the center will serve as a comprehensive recycling hub for both passenger and commercial vehicles across brands.

This facility features a fully digital, paperless operation system and specialised dismantling stations for various vehicle components. The center adheres to strict environmental protocols in handling materials such as tires, batteries, fuel, oils, and other automotive fluids.

State officials welcomed the development, with Transport Minister Jogen Mohan highlighting its potential impact on local employment and environmental conservation. Health Minister Ashok Singhal emphasized the facility's role in promoting sustainable practices in Assam.

The Guwahati facility joins Tata Motors' existing RVSFs in Jaipur, Bhubaneswar, Surat, Chandigarh, Delhi NCR, and Pune, furthering the company's nationwide commitment to responsible vehicle disposal in accordance with India's vehicle scrappage policy.
