In a significant move to strengthen its position in India's growing electric vehicle market, Ola Electric today unveiled its third-generation S1 portfolio, introducing eight new electric scooters across various price segments. The announcement marks a strategic expansion of the company's product lineup, with prices ranging from ₹79,999 to ₹1,69,999.

The new flagship model, S1 Pro+, showcases Ola's technological advancement with its 5.3kWh variant featuring the innovative 4680 Bharat Cell technology. This premium offering boasts impressive performance metrics, including a top speed of 141 kmph and an industry-leading range of 320km. A 4kWh version is also available, providing a more accessible entry point to the premium segment.

"Our third-generation platform represents a significant leap forward in electric vehicle technology," said Bhavish Aggarwal, Chairman & Managing Director of Ola Electric. "We're not just improving performance and efficiency; we're reimagining what's possible in the electric two-wheeler segment."

The Gen 3 platform introduces several engineering innovations, including a mid-drive motor and chain drive system, coupled with an integrated Motor Control Unit. These improvements have resulted in a 20% increase in peak power and range, while achieving an 11% reduction in costs compared to the previous generation.

In the mass-market segment, Ola has introduced the S1 X series, starting with the S1 X (2kWh) at ₹79,999. The company has strategically positioned multiple variants with different battery capacities to cater to diverse consumer needs and price points. The S1 X+ tops this range at ₹1,07,999, offering enhanced features and performance.

Safety innovations feature prominently in the new lineup, with Ola introducing the industry's first dual ABS system for electric scooters, alongside a patented brake-by-wire technology. This system intelligently balances regenerative and mechanical braking, improving energy recovery by 15% while enhancing riding safety.

The company has also announced plans to roll out MoveOS 5 beta in mid-February, bringing new features including a Smartwatch App, Smart Park, and enhanced navigation capabilities through Ola Maps.

Looking ahead, Ola Electric is expanding its portfolio further with the upcoming launch of its Gig and S1 Z scooter range, targeting both personal and commercial users with prices starting at ₹39,999. The company has also revealed plans to enter the motorcycle segment with its Roadster series, featuring models ranging from ₹74,999 to ₹1,99,999.

To support its expanding product line, Ola Electric maintains India's largest company-owned network of automotive experience centers, with over 800 stores nationwide. The company's manufacturing capabilities are centered at the Ola Futurefactory in Tamil Nadu, supported by its Battery Innovation Centre in Bengaluru and R&D facilities across India, the UK, and the US.

Deliveries for the new Gen 3 portfolio will commence from mid-February, with all models backed by a comprehensive 3-year/40,000 km warranty for both scooter and battery. Customers can opt for an extended battery warranty of up to 8 years or 1,25,000 km for an additional ₹14,999.
