Maruti Suzuki Sets New Export Record with Over 330,000 Vehicles in FY 2024-25

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) exported a record 332,585 vehicles in fiscal year 2024-25, achieving a 17.5% increase from the previous year's 283,067 units, the company announced. As India's leading passenger vehicle exporter for the fourth consecutive year, the company accounts for nearly 43% of the country's total vehicle exports.

The top export models included the Fronx, Jimny, Baleno, Swift, and Dzire, with South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Chile, Japan, and Mexico representing the company's largest international markets.

"FY 2024-25 has been a landmark year for Maruti Suzuki in terms of exports," said Mr. Hisashi Takeuchi, MD & CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited. "Aligned with the Government of India's 'Make in India' vision, we attained record exports of 332,585 units. This achievement once again cemented our position as India's number 1 passenger vehicle exporter. We are humbled that our manufacturing excellence has earned global trust, with Maruti Suzuki contributing nearly 43% of the country's total vehicle exports."

Takeuchi noted that the company began exporting the Fronx and Jimny 5-door models to Japan during the fiscal year, both receiving "overwhelming response" in the market.

Looking ahead, Maruti Suzuki plans to expand its global presence in the electric vehicle market. "As announced at Bharat Mobility Global Auto Expo, India is the global manufacturing hub of Suzuki's first global strategic BEV, the e VITARA. In FY 2025-26, we will initiate exports of e VITARA to around 100 countries, including Europe and Japan," Takeuchi added.

The company has a long history of exports, beginning in 1986 with its first large shipment of 500 cars to Hungary in September 1987. Maruti Suzuki reached a cumulative export milestone of 3 million vehicles in November 2024 and currently exports 17 different models to approximately 100 countries worldwide.
