Jaguar Type 00 Showcased at Paris Fashion Week in European Debut

Jaguar’s Type 00 concept car made its first public appearance in Europe during Paris Fashion Week, drawing attention as it transported several well-known personalities to high-profile events. The vehicle, finished in a newly developed French Ultramarine shade, was seen navigating the streets of Paris, marking its latest showcase since its debut at Miami Art Week in December 2024.  

Actors Barry Keoghan, Jamie Dornan, and Zoë Saldaña were among those spotted arriving at various venues in the Type 00. Keoghan was seen at The Peninsula, Paris, following the Valentino show, while Dornan was photographed at Hôtel Plaza Athénée ahead of the Loewe show. Saldaña, accompanied by her husband Marco Perego-Saldaña, arrived in the vehicle before attending an event in a YSL ensemble. The car’s presence generated interest on social media, with attendees capturing its striking design in photos and videos.  

Jaguar describes the Type 00 as a design vision that reflects the brand’s evolving approach to bold aesthetics and innovative proportions. The French Ultramarine finish was developed by Jaguar’s materiality team, working with in-house specialists to create a unique pigment with metallic content, giving the paint a satin-like effect.  

Alongside the Type 00’s presence at Paris Fashion Week, Jaguar has also announced plans to open a new brand store in the city’s Golden Triangle, a well-known luxury district in the 8th arrondissement. According to Rawdon Glover, Managing Director of Jaguar, these stores are designed to offer personalized experiences and build direct client relationships, incorporating local cultural influences into their design.  

The Jaguar Type 00 Concept Car is a design study that envisions a future direction for the brand’s performance and luxury vehicles. While not an officially announced model, it represents a conceptual approach to Jaguar’s design language, technology integration, and sustainability initiatives.

The Type 00 Concept features a sleek and aerodynamic silhouette, incorporating smooth lines and a streamlined structure. The exterior is expected to showcase an advanced lighting system, with LED or laser-based headlights and taillights. Jaguar’s signature grille design may be reinterpreted, aligning with modern efficiency and performance considerations.

Inside, the cabin is anticipated to focus on a balance between driver engagement and advanced technology. The use of high-quality materials, potentially including sustainable alternatives, could be a key element. A digital cockpit with minimal physical controls would likely be integrated, offering an intuitive interface for infotainment and vehicle settings.

Performance aspects of the Type 00 Concept would align with Jaguar’s emphasis on electrification. The model may incorporate an all-electric powertrain, featuring high-performance battery technology for extended range and rapid charging capabilities. Advanced aerodynamics and lightweight construction could contribute to efficiency and dynamic handling.

Autonomous driving features and AI-driven systems may be part of the concept, enhancing safety and adaptability. Connectivity and over-the-air updates could ensure ongoing improvements in software and performance.
