EKA Mobility and Chartered Speed to Deploy 675 Electric Buses Across Rajasthan
EKA Mobility and Chartered Speed will deploy 675 electric buses across eight cities in Rajasthan under the PM e-Bus Sewa Scheme, supporting cleaner urban transport and expansion of electric mobility infrastructure in the state.
EKA Mobility, an electric vehicle and technology company, in collaboration with Chartered Speed, has secured a Letter of Award (LOA) for the deployment of 675 electric buses in Rajasthan under the Pradhan Mantri e-Bus Sewa Scheme.
As part of the initiative, the consortium will deploy 565 nine-meter and 110 twelve-meter fully electric buses across eight major cities in the state—Jaipur, Kota, Udaipur, Ajmer, Alwar, Bikaner, Bhilwara, and Jodhpur. The deployment is aimed at improving urban public transport infrastructure while supporting efforts to lower air pollution and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
This order is part of a broader effort by Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL), which recently issued a Letter of Confirmation of Quantity (LOCQ) for electric buses across India. The Rajasthan order represents one of the larger state-level initiatives under the national programme.
The Rajasthan order comes shortly after EKA Mobility secured major contracts from the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) worth around ₹150 crore, and a separate order from Nagpur Municipal Corporation valued at approximately ₹400 crore. These projects expand EKA’s presence in the country’s electric public transport segment.
EKA, operated by Pinnacle Mobility Solutions Pvt. Ltd., is supported by equity partners Mitsui & Co., Ltd. (Japan) and VDL Groep (Netherlands). The company develops electric commercial vehicles using modular design and lean manufacturing practices, aiming to make electric mobility more accessible and cost-effective for mass deployment.
