Sonalika ITL to invest Rs 200 crores for a new R&D center in NCR
In an effort to double its annual sales in the next 5 years, Sonalika is hiring more than 150 designers and domain experts for the new R&D center in NCR.
Sonalika international tractors (ITL) is investing Rs 200 crores to set up new innovation (R&D) facility located in the National Capital Region (NCR). This new facility will help to further offer innovative farming solutions through technological upgradation, new emission regulations and reducing the product development cycle.
Sonalika recently achieved one lakh tractor sales milestone in 2017-18. This investment comes as part of its vision to double its annual sales to 2 lakh tractors in next five years, i.e. by 2023-24.
Speaking on the new R&D facility, Raman Mittal, executive director, Sonalika Group, said, “This is the first step towards our new vision of 2 lakh tractors by 2023-24. This facility will be a fully functional development centre to produce all aggregates & all prototypes with the latest state-of-the-art test facility. To closely translate the demands of the farmers into farm mechanization solution, we are recruiting over 150+ domain experts for this new set up.”
The innovation centre is going to work towards contemporary and future technology requirements to meet the emission and safety norms in global markets including Europe and USA.”
Sonalika international tractors has built one of the largest integrated tractor manufacturing plant in Hoshiarpur with an annual production capacity of 3 lakh tractors. It offers products and solutions that range from 20-120hp and even has a strategic alliance with Yanmar of Japan.
