Bajaj Auto’s manufacturing partner, KTM India has launched the updated KTM RC390 for 2016 in India. The modifications on the bike are solely mechanical, and styling is carried forward from the older model. The biggest update on the 2016 model is the introduction of a slipper clutch, which makes it easier to ride when shifting gears aggressively.

The updated RC390 for India is priced at Rs 2.13 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The 2016 RC390 continues to be powered by the 373.2cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled four-stroke engine developing 42.9bhp and 3.57kgm of torque mated to a six-speed gearbox. Also, the engine and gearbox have received minor tweaks to improve smoothness.  The 2016 KTM RC390 doesn't come with a switch for the headlight and hence the headlight is activated when the bike is switched on.

Internationally, the updated bike gets an all-new exhaust system – a new stainless steel underfloor pre-silencer which meets a cylindrical aluminium absorption silencer, and now adheres to Euro 4 emission norms making it cleaner to run. However, for India this add-on is not available as it would result in an increase in costs. It also skips on the 320mm larger disc brake at the front.  The new belly pan, and span adjustable levers shown on the eicma bike have not reached showrooms in India.

Apart from the RC 390, KTM India has also launched 2016 versions of the RC 200, 200 Duke and 390 Duke.
